Why do fans of MCU expect the day Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3 coming out?
After numerous rumors swirling around the director, the release date, or the twist in the plot of the upcoming Guardians of The Galaxy vol. 3, updating the latest news is what we should do to fill up our curiosity. Moreover, Guardians of The Galaxy 3 may be the key to answer what will happen after the tremendous destruction of Thanos, besides other Marvel’s new phase of movies – Thor: Love And Thunder and the untitled Captain Marvel 2. Does Thor become The Guardians Of The Galaxy as hinted before? Will the Guardians encounter new threats in space or they face off some of their old enemies? Also, the roles of Gamora and Rocket in this new film are intriguing mysteries. Below is the latest news of Guardians of The Galaxy Vol.3 we’ve just collected.
As planned before, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was scheduled to come out in 2020, following up in Marvel’s new phase of movies post-Avengers: Endgame. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 release date would be delayed up to 2022 due to some unexpected events, especially the return of James Gunn after he got fired. Another reason for the postponement is that Gunn has to finish directing The Suicide Squad for Warner Bros. Other sources state that Guardians of The Galaxy Vol.3 will probably hit the theatre in 2023!
Who is starring in Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3?
With the threat of Thanos, we already know that the entire team has been snapped out of life to save Rocket Raccoon and Nebula. So, definitely they are two guardians we can see in the next adventure of the Guardians of The Galaxy.
Possibly faces appearing in the upcoming Guardians of The Galaxy Vol.3:
Star-Lord/Peter Quill (Chris Pratt)
Gamora (Zoe Saldana)
Drax (Dave Bautista)
Mantis (Pom Klementieff)
Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel)
Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper; motion capture by Sean Gunn)
Nebula (Karen Gillan)
Kraglin (Sean Gunn)
Other characters may include: Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki) and Stakar (Sylvestor Stallone).
Some throwbacks of The team
At the end of Endgame, Iron Man managed to destroy Thanos with his heroic sacrifice. Most of the guardians survive after the snap of Thanos: Star-Lord, Drax, Mantis and Groot.
And thanks to some time-travelling theories, which Thanos and his troops had used to change their failure in future, Gamora was restored to life too after her sacrifice in Infinity War.
The team is moving to the new journey, picking up new crews. Presumably, Thor will go on board with them after his solo trilogy is complete, which we jokingly call “Asgardians of the Galaxy”.
If things are like what the conclusion of Endgame leaves, Thor can join on board with the Guardians. We may see the better relationship between Thor and Roet, so it is more likely to a new guardian from Asgard coming.
The next point is whether Gamora turns back magically or the team will go on without her appearance? She was not resurrected in Endgame, how could she go back? There are some assumptions that though Gamora is no longer a part of the team, another version of her still exists somewhere in outer space, remembering nothing from what happened in the first two vols.
Also, what missions do the Guardians of The Galaxy have to take over in Marvel’s new phase of movies? Gunn reveals the film would be “[catapulting] both old and new Marvel characters into the next ten years”, after “some kind of seismic shift in the Marvel Cinematic Universe”. He promised the Marvel Cosmic Universe would be “special and authentic and magical” as always, with his co-designer Kevin Feige.
The director stated that Vol. 3 would end the trilogy and fans might see the back story of Rocket who plays a vital role in the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Unfortunately, Gun has confirmed the finish of Rocket’s arc when he is back: “I relate to Rocket and I feel compassion for Rocket, but I also feel like his story has not been completed. He has an arc that started in the first movie, continued into the second, and goes through Infinity War and Endgame, and then I was set to really finish that arc in Guardians 3. That was a big loss to me, not being able to finish that story.” Perhaps it is unpleasant to see, every fierce fight definitely has its consequence.
Another question is, is there any case if Howard the Duck appears in the next adventure of the Guardians of The Galaxy? Although James Gunn has not revealed anything about this rumor, we may expect some surprising characters in the upcoming Guardians of The Galaxy Vol.3. Howard The Duck first appeared in the post-credits scene of the first Guardians of the Galaxy, then portrayed as a cameo in Vol. 2. That’s why it is reasonable to doubt that he will show up in Vol. 3, isn’t it?
So, some more characters show up, and some end up, which makes the upcoming Guardians of The Galaxy vol. 3 much more waiting. Get updated to see any change in the new phase of Marvel movies.
